What does shahadah mean?
To believe that there in one god
What does salah mean?
To pray five times a day
What does sawm mean?
To fast during the month of Ramadan
What does zakah mean?
To give money to charity/ help the unfortunate
What does hajj mean?
To go on a pilgrimage to the city of Mecca once in their lifetime

. You don’t have to fast if you are pregnant, a young child or an old person
. You can only eat and drink when the sun is down which makes for fasting in the summer as the sun goes down earlier
. Some people even decide to not drink water during this time

. You can not count buying a lottery ticket as giving money to charity.
. Every Muslim gives at least 2% of there savings to the poor.
. If you don’t have money to give you can just spend time with the poor instead.

. You must try to go to Mecca at least one in your lifetime.
. You do this to renew your faith and to worship with others around the world.
. The meaning of the word Hajj is heading to the place for the sake of visiting.
