Defecation
51. Study guide- digestive system
- In what part of the body does most chemical digestion take place
Small intestine
51. Study guide- digestive system
- The breakdown of complex food molecules into simpler molecules is MECHANICAL digestion (t/f)
False-chemical
51. Study guide- digestive system
- Most chemical digestion takes place in the LARGE INTESTINE (t/f)
False-small intestine

- Where are the incisors, canines, pre molars, and molars in the mouth
Incisors are the first four teeth in the front of your mouth(top and bottom)
Canines are the spiky teeth next to the incisors (top and bottom)
Premolars are right behind the canines(top and bottom)
Molars are your back teeth behind premolars (top/bottom)

- What structure lines duedenum and describe their function
The structure is villi. Nutrient molecules pass into cells in the surface of the villus and from there in to blood vessels. The villi provide a large surface area for absorption

- Could the duodenum perform its function without the pancreas?
The pancreas produces enzymes that aid in chemical digestion. Without those enzymes, chemical digestion could not be completed, so C, the small intestine, would be unable to absorb small nutrient molecules into the blood stream
