What’s the difference between the MCC and Champagne?
The only difference between South African bubbly and the famous French alternative is that champagne grapes must be grown in champagne region of France while South African MCC use local grapes Chardonnay and Pinot noir.
What’s is Liqueur de tirage?
It’s a mixture of wine added in second fermentation when making an MCC which is sugur and yeast. Yeast makes the CO2 which makes the bubbles inside the bottle.
What is the process of the removal of sediments from the MCC?
It’s called the Remuage.
Where by the bottles are turned everyday for a few weeks stored in pupitres boards with specially shaped holes.
What makes the MCC good?
It’s determined by the Vintage, grape cultivar and the sugar level.
