What does a child learn by mastering trust in this stage? Trust vs. Mistrust Stage (birth -18 months)
When the child has mastered trust in this stage the child develops optimism and security. A child also learns what love, nurturing, and healthy relationships look like.

When a child is going down the slide and gains trust from seeing a parent at the end of the slide to catch them. Or a swing, children would know that their parents are there for them.
What does autonomy mean?
Autonomy means control over your own body and your actions.
What does a child learn by mastering autonomy?
A child that learns to master autonomy will learn to be proud and to make your own decisions
What does initiative mean?
Initiative means to be independent and do things on your own. Not only is it about leading, but also learning to follow.
What does a child learn by mastering initiative in this stage?
When children master initiative they learn how to build friendships, how to play, leadership, and independence.
What does industry refer to?
-Refers to putting others before yourself
-Being humble
What happens to a child who does not master industry?
-They will become demanding since they will feel that the world is all about them
