What’s a dermatome?
A
- An area of skin supplied by a single spinal nerve.
- Dermatome maps depict area of skin and group of muscles innervated by spinal nerves.
- Clinicians can assess cutaneous sensations with dermatome map as a way to localise lesions within central nervous system.
