Waves are the transfer of energy and information

Occur parallel to direction of energy transfer
What is the definition of a transverse wave
Oscillations at right angles to the direction of wave motion
What can longitude waves do and not do
-they can not travel in a vacuum
What can transverse waves do and not do
Travels fastest in a vacuum
Can travel through any medium
What is the order of the electromagnetic spectrum
-radio waves -micro waves -infrared -ultra violet - x-rays - gamma rays
What is the wave equation
Wave speed = frequency x wavelength V=f x lamda
Defo of time period
Time taken for one oscillation to occur
Defo of amplitude
A measurement of the amount of energy transferred by a wave
Defo of frequency
Number of waves that pass a given point in 1 second
Defo of wavelength
The distance of one crest to another
What is the equation for time period
Period = 1/ frequently
What is the law of reflection
Angle of incerdence = angle of reflection
