Physics & Dynamics Flashcards
What is Boyle’s Law?
The inverse proportional relationship between pressure and volume at a constant temperature and a fixed amount of gas.
What is Charles’s Law?
The directly proportional relationship between the volume and temperature of a fixed amount of gas when the pressure is held constant.
What is Pascal’s Law?
The pressure applied to an enclosed fluid that will be transmitted without a change in magnitude to every point of the fluid and to the walls of the container.
What is Potential Energy?
The energy held by an object due to its position relative to other objects
What is Kinetic Energy?
The energy that is possesses due to its motion.
Can energy be created or destroyed?
No!
What is Bernoulli’s Principle?
A state that an increase in the speed of fluid occurs simultaneously with a decrease of static pressure or a decrease in the fluids potential energy.
What is a Barometer?
A scientific instrument that measures the air pressure in different environments.
