16
Q

what is friction?

A

friction is between two surfaces in contact which slows things down.

17
Q

what is terminal velocity?

A

the force of gravity is much more than the frictional force when the object set off, so they accelerate, after this the frictional force begins to balance with the gravity. this reduces the acceleration and once the frictional force is equal to the gravitational force the object will not accelerate anymore .. it has therefore reached its terminal velocity.

18
Q

what is the two main factors that affect thinking distance?

A

1) how fast your going

2) how dopey you are ( affected by alcohol, tiredness, drugs or careless attitude)

19
Q

what is the four main factors affecting breaking distance?

A

1) how fast you’re going
2) how good your brakes are
3) how good your tyres are
4) how good the grip is (dependant on the weather, road surface and tyres)

20
Q

what happens when a force moves an object through a distance?

A

energy is transferred and work is done

21
Q

what is kinetic energy?

A

energy of movement

22
Q

what does the kinetic energy of something depend on?

A

mass and speed.
