Q
  1. Tension
  2. Extension
  3. Compression
  4. What is hooks law
A
  1. A force acting within a material in a direction that would extend the material
2.An increase in the the size of a material sample caused by tension force
  2. A force acting within a material in a direction that would squash the material. Also the decrease in size of a material sample under a compressive force
  3. Hooks law states that the force needed to extend a spring is proportional to the extension (until it reaches limit of proportionality)

Q
  1. What is limit of proportionality
  2. Force applied=
A
  1. The maximum extension an object can have which is still proportional to the load applied
  2. Force applied(N) = stiffness constant (N m–1) X extension(m)
