Physics 2019 Flashcards
What is the equation that connects velocity, distance and time
Velocity = distance/ time
What is the equation that links acceleration, speed at end, speed at start and time
Acceleration = speed at end - speed at start/ time
What is acceleration measured in
M/s2
What is an ammeter used for
To measure amps
What is a voltmeter used for
To measure volts (it is always set up in parallel)
How do you need to set up the voltmeter and ammeter to measure resistance
The voltmeter should be in parallel and the ammeter should be n series
What is the definition, symbol and unit for a current
It is the rate of flow of charge around a circuit, it’s symbol is I and it’s unit is AMPS
What is the definition, symbol and unit for Voltage (potential difference)
It is the force that pushes the current around the circuit, it’s symbol is V and it’s unit is VOLTS
What is the definition, symbol and unit for resistance
It is the measure of how much a material resists current , it’s symbol is R and it’s unit is OHMS
What is the symbol and unit for Colombs
It’s symbol is Q and it’s unit is C
What is the symbol and unit for Work done
Its symbol is W and it’s unit is JOULES
What is the symbol and unit for power
It’s symbol is P and it’s unit is WATTS
What is the equation for current in a series circuit
I =I1 = I2 = I3
What is the equation for current in a parallel circuit
I = I1+ I2 + I3
What is the equation for voltage in a series circuit
V = V1 + V2 + V3
