Physical Science Flashcards
Radiation
The emission of energy as electromagnetic waves or as moving subatomic particle.
Convection
Heat transferred through radiation
Conduction
Heat through touch
Physical properties
Is a properties that is measurable
Physical changes
A Change that changes the appearance
Chemical properties
Composition or identity of the substance is changed
Chemical changes
Something that is being changed and can not go back to its old form
Average speed
The speeds average time
Distance divided by time
Velocity
Describes the speed and the direction of an objects motion
Friction
The resistance that one surface or object encounters when moving over another
Newton’s first law
When an object in motion it wants to stay in motion. When an object is at rest it wants to stay at rest forever. Inertia
Newton’s second law
When two forces on an object are balanced the object does not move. When the forces are unbalanced the object moves
F=MXA
Newton’s third law
For every action there is a equal and opposite reaction.
Action - Reaction
Force
A push or a pull
