physic chapter 3 (force) Flashcards
what is force?
when a force on an object will cause the object will cause the object to accelerate in that direction.(force is a push or a pull acting between object and another
how is force measured?
forces are measured in newtons using a newton meter. Force are vector measurements because they have magnitude and direction
what are example of contact force?
friction,air resistance,tansion
what are examples of non-contact force?
magnetic,weight
what is newton first law?
an object will remain at rest or moving with constant velocity unless a resultant force acts on it
What is newtons second law?
a resultant force will cause an object to accelerate,The greater the mass,The lower the rate of acceleration
what is newtons third law of motion?
when object a applies a force to object b,object b applies on equal and opposite force to object a.
