What wave is a phone signal and where are they sent?
A
Mobile phone signals are MICROWAVES and signals are sent to a MAST then to a RECEIVER

How do we transmit signals over long distances?
A
- Using satellites (microwaves)

Advantages to using satellites
A
They’re easy to get signal from as they are everywhere
Can be easily extended for others to use
Have a cost adv. in rural areas

Disadvantages to Satellites
A
A non direct route for information sent (time delays)
Expensive to build and launch
Effected by the weather

Advantages to cables
A
Nothing gets in the way
Have a direct route for sending signals
Clearer signals as glass becomes more and more pure
