Who are some major prophets?
Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, and Paul the Apostle.
Why was the legitimacy of a prophet important?
Because a true prophet brought people closer to God, while a false prophet drove people away.
Define forth telling.
Proclaiming god’s message.
Define foretelling.
Predictive in nature.
What are the requirements to become a prophet?
- You must be called or chosen by God.
- They don’t typically need an education but there were prophecy schools.
- There were no gender requirements.
What were the subjects addressed in prophecies?
Judgement, redemption, covenant, a messiah, and sometimes political, social and economical concerns.
How did people people take to prophecy?
Sometimes it was rejected (along with the prophet) and sometimes the prophecies were accepted.
What are Prophets?
Prophets are essentially God’s mouthpieces, they guide and warn people based on their prophecies that they have received.
