Definition: in or to a position below or lower than something else, often so that one thing covers the other
Example: Pride may lurk under a threadbare cloak.
Switch off
Definition: to put or turn on/off (an electric current / light etc)
Example: He went to switch off the music.
Write down
Definition: to record in writing
Example: I’ll write down the address for you.
Get up
Definition: to stand up
Example: They get up to all sorts behind your back.
Come on
Definition: said to encourage someone to do something, especially to hurry or try harder, or to tell you something
Example: I can’t come on that date.
Go away
Definition: to leave a place
Example: Agues come on horseback but go away on foot.
Go out
Definition: to leave a room or building, especially in order to do something for entertainment
Example: We’ll go out when the rain is over.
Sit down
Definition: to put yourself or sb else in a sitting position
Example: A sit-down dinner was followed by a disco.
Turn on
Definition: to push or turn sth to make a device, machine, etc. start working
Example: I pushed the button to turn on the radio.
Give back
Definition: to return sth you took or borrowed
Example: It was something to give back.
Pick up
Definition: to use your hands to lift
Example: She picks up ideas from other chefs.
Call back
Definition: to use a telephone to talk to sb again or to talk to sb who called you before
