Type
should be limited, direct and to the point.

the way the characters look (size, color, and design)
Font
is mathematically defined, can be scaled to any size without losing its sharp, smooth edges.
Outline Type
composed of pixels, and can develop jagged edges when enlarged.
Bitmap Type
have a tail or stroke at the end of the characters.
Serif Font
do not have tails & are commonly used in headlines
Sans Serif Font
used to display unique characters
Symbol Fonts
the size of each character is measured in ( 1 inch is equivalent to 72 points or six picas.)

Gloss Contour

Rasterized
let you create waves or curves in type (glass, pinch, ripple, etc)
Distort Filters
height of ridges within an object or text
Relief
adjustments made between characters and lines of type
Type Spacing
each character occupies the same amount of space
Monotype Spacing
each character
