Photography Flashcards
Two main types of digital cameras:
Point & Shoot
Single Lens Reflex (SLR)
Digital Point and Shoot advantages:
- Very user friendly
- Small and lightweight
- Easy to carry, store and transport
- Inexpensive
Digital Point and Shoot disadvantages:
- Camera controls image capture
- Often no viewfinder/LCD framing
- Low light photos are poor quality
- No long exposures (problem in low light)
- Often cannot shoot closer than 3 ft
- Auto focus system slow, capturing about 1 second after pressing shutter (shutter lag)
SLR advantages are:
- User has control over image capture
- More capabilities than Point & Shoot
- Viewfinder, large image sensor, long exposures possible, can shoot close-ups, fast autofocus, produces quality images
SLR disadvantages:
