What are Aerial Photographs?
Images taken of the ground from a high altitude
What is a large scale photo?
covers a small area and means that ground features appear larger and more detailed
What is a small scale photo?
covers a large area and means that ground features appear smaller and less detailed
What are orthophotographs?
is a geometrically corrected aerial photograph that displays ground features in their true ground position with a constant scale throughout the image
What are the uses of Aerial Photographs?
– Navigation and mapping
– Forest inventory
– Geologic surveys

– Land use change
– Wildlife habitat assessment
Explain Satellite Imagery?
Photos taken from a satellite
→ the examination and interpretation of very large areas,
→ generally are not as detailed as aerial photos.
→ can study the oceanic plates, continents, cities, mountains, lakes, volcanoes, canyons, etc.
