Phospholipids
A
- type of lipid
- each molecule has on end which is soluble in water, and one end which is not
- one end has a lot of oxygen atoms in the glycerol group and the phosphate and so interacts with water
- hydrophilic
- is the polar end of the molecule - the fatty acids tail do not have any oxygen atoms, and do not interact with water
- hydrophobic
- non-polar end of the molecule
