Q

What are you passionate about?

A

I’m driven every day by the ability to create beautiful, innovative, and intuitive experiences. Designing experiences in a way that is easy for people to use makes me feel like I’m truly making a difference —even if only in a small way. In my most recent role, I was able to design a patient onboarding platform that informed members if there was a sudden change to their new plan. It was a thrill being able to see people’s reactions when using this and how excited it made them.

Q

What first sparked your interest in your desired field?

A

Started when I was working for a consumer electronics company. Months were spent planning for the launch of a product, but when released it wasn’t successful. I wanted to understand why this product failed. I researched and learned about UX. I read books like Don Norman’s design of everyday things. I was like “this makes sense.” From there, I pushed for user research and user testing within the company I was with. Witnessing how thoughtful design changes positively affected users’ experiences and, ultimately, their well-being was a game-changer for me. Once I truly understood what it took to create and launch digital products, something sparked in me — I realized that having an impact on people’s lives by creating what they were actually using every day was fulfilling to me. What I really love about UX design is that I get to see the direct impact of what I do. Seeing my design used by the end-users during usability test is very rewarding. Knowing that it’s being used by millions of users makes it even more exciting. More importantly, the steps it takes to get to that launch equally excited me.

This skill is crucial for effectively adapting to evolving priorities and ensuring successful product launches.

It is not possible to accomplish something well without a team. I’ve never had a role that didn’t involve a close team. Q

Tell me a little about yourself

A

I’m a UX/UI product designer with a unique blend of experience, having worked for a diverse range of companies. From start-ups like a sass entertainment payroll solution provider to a consumer services crowd gifting platform, and larger corporations such as a prominent digital agency and a Fortune 5 healthcare giant.

During my time at the digital agency, I played multiple roles like UX architect, Visual Designer, and the hybrid UX/UI designer for different clients in different industries like healthcare, e-commerce, and finance. My tasks ranged from leading client presentations and workshops to crafting essential UX deliverables – user flows, site maps, wireframes, prototypes, design systems, and polished high-fidelity design comps. I also took charge of planning and conducting user research, usability tests, and interviews, providing valuable insights to both our team and clients.

During my tenure at CVS Health, I crafted customer experiences for both CVS Caremark and CVS Specialty. Working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), collaboration became the cornerstone of our success. I engaged closely with cross-functional teams, collaborating seamlessly with product managers, developers, accessibility designers, content designers, and stakeholders. One notable achievement was on a recent project where my team efficiently launched an onboarding pilot website within a mere 2 months. As you may know, things move in a slower pace in large corporations like CVS, so this was a huge feat to launch a brand new site within 2 months. The results were remarkable, witnessing a 15% surge in successful registration rates compared to the standard site. This showcased our ability to not only meet but exceed project goals in a fast paced timeline.

Now, I’m on the lookout for a new challenge within a company that places a high value on user and customer experiences. I’m eager to join a team that keeps me on my toes, encourages continuous learning, and provides an environment where I can contribute my problem-solving skills to create meaningful solutions.
