A philosophical branch that studies reality, existence, the nature of being, the physical world and the universe.
Metaphysics
A branch of philosophy that delves into the ways we acquire, the scope and parameters, of knowledge; the theory of knowledge.
Epistemology
A branch of philosophy that teaches how to conduct: valid, good, and bad reasoning; the study of reason.
Logic
A branch of philosophy that seeks the definition of proper conduct and a good life, how should we live; study of morality.
Ethics
A branch of philosophy that studies art, beauty, and good taste.
Aesthetic
A branch of philosophy that examines concepts related to politics, laws, liberty, justice, rights, authorities, states and ethics.
Political Philosophy
The first philosopher, founder of Milesian.
Thales of Miletus
The unifying principle of the universe
Arche
He believes the ultimate composition of the of all things is water.
Thales of Miletus
Student of Thales, the first metaphysicist, believes the unifying element is Apeiron not water.
Anaximander
Student of Anaximander, believes everything came from air.
Anaximenes
He is from Samos, he believes that the totality of reality can be explained by mathematical laws.
Phythagoras
He criticized Homer and Hesiod, anti-anthropomorphic.
Xenophanes
He believed fire is the single original element, he’s enigmatic and dark.
Heraclitus
Means that: everything that exist is based on a higher power or plan.
Logos
He believed that empty space or Arche is nothing, and that it is impossible to create concept if it is nothing.
Parmenides
He studies philosophy of paradox, and the paradox of motion; a defender of Parmenides, believes that time and motion is an illusion.
Zeno of Elea
Everything is composed of air, water, earth and fire. (Avatar)
Four Roots
He proposed four roots along with the two principles of Love and Strife (or Hate).
Empedocles
The first philosopher connected to Athens, he replaced the four roots into infinite seeds.
Anaxagoras
For everything that exists there is a seed of everything else, thought by Anaxagoras.
Infinite Seeds
He is the Atomist, he contradicted Parmenides that empty space of Arche is real and has motion; he thinks things are made up of Atomos.
