bigotry
intolerance toward those who hold different opinions from oneself.
canon
a general law, rule, principle, or criterion by which something is judged
capitalism
an economic and political system in which a country’s trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.
categorical imperative
an unconditional moral obligation that is binding in all circumstances and is not dependent on a person’s inclination or purpose.
concept
an abstract idea; a general notion
consciousness
the state of being awake and aware of one’s surroundings.
creationism
the belief that the universe and living organisms originate from specific acts of divine creation, as in the biblical account, rather than by natural processes such as evolution.
criterion
a principle or standard by which something may be judged or decided
culture
the arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively.
deconstructionism
a philosophical or critical method which asserts that meanings, metaphysical constructs, and hierarchical oppositions

catharsis
the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions
citizenship
the status of being a citizen. If you have citizenship in a country, you have the right to live there, work, vote, and pay taxes!
communism
a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.
