Phenomenology Flashcards
Phenomenology Teaching & Learning

Describe Phenomenology & Aim
Aim - Concerned with what is going on inside in relation to who we are & world.
Complicated philosophy - because world & us are complicated.
The world & us always interact & influence each other. “I am in the world & the world is in me”.
Need to interact with real (natural) world not virtual reality to be real.
Need to have deep emotional connection with people to be real.
Need to be careful not to let people control who we are.
Believes resist power structures not through confrontation but by retreating & unengaging ourselves

The Devisions of Phenomenology (3)

What is falsity in Phenomenology?
Believes most dangerous thing is falsity (to deceive, misrepresent, distort).
Falsity includes:

Social falsity - A party - everyone trying to work out who is more important.
