Phase 1 of Korean War ?
June 1950 , NK attacked SK. Helped with Equipment from USSR and China. Captured Seoul, then pushed south troops into Pusan. Chinese troops ready to support NK (COMMUNIST) . 29 states from UN ready to start fight back .
Phase 2 of Korean war ?
UN to cut off Communist supply . In sep 1950 Inchon landings occurred. At the same time UN + SK troops advanced from Pusan . NK then were pushed back to 38th parallel, In late sep Macarthur had retaken Seoul.
US and UN then pushed even further to Yalu river .
Phase 3 of Korean war ?
Oct 1950 , 200k Chinese troops , volunteers , gathered at Yalu river ready to attack , equipped with modern Ussr tanks etc . Un forces pushed back out of Seoul in Jan 1951, before a stalemate at the 38 th parallel .Stalemate reached , MacArthur openly threats nukes in April 1951 , Truman then fires him .
Phase 4 of Korean War ?
Peace talks began June 1951 , No progress really made . Bitter fighting continued . In 1952 Truman replaced By Eisenhower who wanted to end war . March 1953 Stalin died he was replaced by less aggressive Malenkov . An armistice was signed in July 1953v.
