New Moon
When the moon can’t be seen because the sunlight is no bouncing of in our direction.
Phases
One of the different apparent shapes of the moon as seen from Earth.
Waxing Crescent
The phase of the moon when it is just starting to show.
First Quarter
The first half of the moon shows for the evening then goes down leaving the sky dark.
Waxing Gibbous
When most of the moon is visible.
Full Moon
When the entire face of the Moon can be seen.
Waning Gibbous
When only a sliver of the Moon can’t be seen and most of it is visible.
Last Quater
When directly Half of the moon is seen.
Waning Crescent
Only when a sliver of the moon can be seen really early in the morning.
Eclipse
The partial or total blocking of one object in space by another.
Solar Eclipse
The blocking of sunlight to Earth that occurs when the moon is directly between the sun and Earth.
Lunar Eclipse
The blocking of sunlight to the moon that occurs when Earth is directly between the sun and the moon.
