Nominative use
Generic, “a moon.” Subject.
Genitive use
Used to show relationship or possession.
Dative use
Used for something which has something done to or for. Receiver of an action.
Accusative use
Ends a thought, “Jane ate a salad.” The salad is the endpoint. Past tense usage.
Ablative use
Complicated - the time when, place where or from which something is done, how something was done, the way in which something was done (time/circumstance/cause of event.)
