composition of pharmacy specialist accreditation board (PSAB)
- min 6 registered pharmacists
- chairman & members appointed by MOH
- chairman presides board meeting, have casting vote in an event of equality of votes
- serve 3 year term, eligible for reappointment
functioning of pharmacy specialist accreditation board (PSAB)
- 3 members present to form a quorum for any PSAB meeting
** need to elect person to preside chairperson if chairperson absent
** can appoint one or more suitable committees to assist in function

1) determine qualifications, experience, other conditions for specialist registration
2) define specialities in practice of pharmacy
3) accredit training programmes to be recognised to qualify for specialist registration
4) certify persons having qualifications for specialist registration
5) recommend to council programmes for CPE of specialist pharmacist
6) advise counsel in matters related to specialist registration
what are the requirements for specialist registration in SG
1) fully registered pharmacist, hold valid PC, currently practicing in Singapore
2) additional qualification: relevant postgraduate qualification recognised by PSAB
3) knowledge in specialised branch of pharmacy: valid cert in existing 7 specialist recognised by PSAB
4) fulfilled other conditions:
- completed 1 year full time residency training in broad-based pharmacotherapy recognised by PSAB + completed 1 year full time residency in specialty applied for and recognised by PSAB
process for specialist registration
1) pharmacist submit application form
2) PSAB issue certificate of eligibility for specialist registration
3) SPC register applicant in Register of Specialist -> issue specialist certificate in branch of pharmacy and practising certificate (PC)

1) Cardiology pharmacy
- board certification in cardiology pharmacy (BCCP)
- pharmacotherapy with added qualifications in cardiology from board of pharmacy specialties, USA
2) critical care pharmacy
- board certification in critical care pharmacy (BCCCP) form board of pharmacy specialties, USA
3) geriatric pharmacy
- board certification in geriatric pharmacy (BCGP) from board of pharmacy specialties, USA
4) infectious diseases pharmacy
- board certification in infectious diseases pharmacy (BCIDP) or pharmacotherapy with added qualifications in infectious diseases from board of pharmacy specialties, USA
5) pediatric pharmacy
- board certification in pediatric pharmacy (BCPPS) from board of pharmacy specialties, USA
6) oncology pharmacy
- board certification in oncology pharmacy (BCOP) from board of pharmacy specialties, USA
7) psychiatric pharmacy
- board certification in psychiatric pharmacy (BCPP) form board of pharmacy specialists, USA
pharmacy residency training
1) year 1: generalised/broad-based training, national R1
2) year 2: specialty training/national R2
