First Line- CAD/ post-MI w/ ACEI/ARB
First Line- HF w/ ACEI/ARB + AA
Second Line- HTN, angina pectoris, a-fib/a-flutter
Beta-Blocker (Cardiodselective) Contraindications
COPD/Asthma
Second or Third degree AV block
Severe decompensated HF
Caution in: depression, DM, PVD
Pregnancy
Beta-Blocker Side Effects
Hypotension
Bradycardia
Can worsen depression
AV block
Fatigue
Masks signs of hypoglycemia (all but sweating)
Hyperlipidemia (not carvedilol)
Diabetes
Sexual dysfunction
SOB
Feeling cold
