What is Loperamide?
Antidiarrhoeal used for acute non-infective diarrhoea
What is Prednisolone?
Anti-inflam used for UC
What is Cinchocaine (+ hydrocotisone)
?
Combo used for haemorrhoids
What is the MOA of Mebeverine?
Can reduce Ca in colonic SMCs = less painful spasm
What is the MOA of Loperamide?
Mu-opioids receptor agonist in myenteric plexus which suppresses innervation of GI smooth muscles
What is the MOA of Prednisolone?
Glucocorticoids analogue complexes with receptor = transcriptionally down reg inflam
What is the MOA of Cinchcaine?
Local anaesthetic
Blocks VG Na channels in nociceptive nerve fibers reducing pain sensation
