Why are inhaled medications used?

A

Inhaled drugs are delivered direct to the site they’re needed, with a rapid onset of action and reduction in side effects as smaller doses can be used.

What is inertial impaction?

A

The principle means of deposition of the majority of particles within the respiratory tract. When the particles inertia is too great to allow it to continue to flow with the airstream it becomes lodged in the airway.
