Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome- first or second generation pyschotics higher risk?

A

First generation, specifically Haloperidol but any dopamine receptor blocker

Symptoms of neuroleptic malignant syndrome

A

Fever, rigidity, tremor, autonomic instability, raised CK. Can give bromocriptine.
