Nociception
A
Term given for primary afferent fibers that respond to high threshold, noxious stimuli ( C- and Ad fibers ) encoding its location & density

Chronic pain
A
Pain that outlasts the precipitating (tissue) injury
Ex. Inflammatory/Neuropathic/Cancer pain
Gives rise to :
1- Hyperalgesia : a mild noxious stimulus leads to amplified pain
2- Allodynia : pain due to a non-painful stimulus
( static and tactile allodynia )
