Albuterol Dose (Adult)
2.5-5mg (neb) diluted in 3ml of NS. May repeat 20-30 mins (ma dose 3 doses/hr)

selective beta 2 agonist that stimulates the adrenergic receptor of the sympathomimetic nervous system. –> BRONCHODIALATION and IMPROVED AIRFLOW
Albuterol indications and contraindications
Indications: asthma or copd exacerbation, acute bronchospasm
contraindications:
hyper sensitivity
hyper thyroidism

ADULT-125-250 mg (iv/im) slow bolus, followed by NS flush if given iV
PREDS-1-2 mg/kg (iv/im) slow bolus, followed by ns flush if given iv

blocks the action of acetylcholine at the muscarinic receptors in the airway, leading to bronchodilation.
