Q

Which of the following statements regarding the ocular toxicities of the antimalarial drugs is NOT true?
1 Premaculopathy associated with changes in visual fields without visual loss is reversible if the antimalarial is discontinued
2 True retinopathy is associated with “bull’s eye” pigment deposition, central scotoma, and diminished visual acuity
3 Risk of retinopathy is greatest for quinacrine, followed by chloroquine
4 Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine should not be given together because of an additive effect on retinotoxicity
5 The 4-aminoquinolones may have significant associated ocular toxicity
