- Psychosis is not present
Symptoms of paranoid personality disorder.
- Suspicious
- Reluctant to confide in others because of unwarrented fear that the information will be used maliciously against him or her
- Persistently bears grudges
Symptoms of schizoid personality disorder
- Social withdrawal / likes social isolation
- Takes pleasure in few, if any, activities
- Appears indifferent to the praise or critisism of others

- Eccentric behaviour and beliefs
- Ideas of reference
- Odd thinking and speech (eg. vague, metaphorical, overelaborate)
- Lack of close friends except first degree relatives

- The emotional cluster
- Associated with mood disorders
- Associated with substance abuse
Symptoms of antisocial personality disorder.
- Criminal behaviour and disregard for other members of society
- Decietfulness
- Impulsivity or failure to plan ahead
- Aggressiveness
- Consistent irresponsibility (as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behaviour of honor financial obligations)
- Lack of remorse
Extreme form of antisocial personality disorder
Psychopathy
Symptoms of borderline personality disorder.
- Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment
- A pattern of unstable and intentse interpersonal relationships (charaterised by alternating between extremes of idealistaion and devaluation)
- Impulsivity in two areas that are potentially self-damaging (spending, sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, binge eating)
- Recurent suicidal behaviour
- Difficulty controlling anger

- considers relationships to be more intimate than they actually are

- has a sense of entitlment
