What is a personality disorder?
An enduring, persisting disturbance characterised by problems in functioning in self and/or interpersonal dysfunction.
->can affect identity, self-wroth, self-direction, ability to develop and maintain close relationships
What is important to note about length of symptoms for a personality disorder?
Need to be for prolonged period of time
What is meant by negative affectivity?
Low self-esteem, low self-confidence, a tendency to experience strong negative emotions
What is meant by detachment?
A tendency towards social and emotional detachment from others in a rigid way.
Dissociality?
Clinical phenomenon related to harmful behaviour towards others and often a lack of empathy related to it
Anankastia?
Tendency towards rigid insistence on order, cleanliness, abiding by rules to their letter

Often involves repeated violent or criminal behaviour with impairment of ordinary remorsefulness
