General Personality Disorder
Patterns of inner experience and behavior that significantly deviates from one’s cultural expectations, causing clinically significant distress.
Paranoid Personality Disorder
Deeply mistrusting of others, viewing their motives as malevolent even when there is no evidence to support that.
Schizoid Personality Disorder
Detached from social relationships and has a restricted range of emotions in interpersonal settings; one will avoid all social interaction and derives no pleasure from sensory, bodily, or interpersonal relationships.
Schizotypal Personality Disorder
Lacks adequate social or interpersonal skills, accompanied by acute uneasiness with, and diminished ability to, maintain close relationships.
Antisocial Personality Disorder
Pervasive pattern of disregard for, and violation of, others’ rights.
Borderline Personality Disorder
Displays instability in interpersonal relationships, self-image, and affects, accompanied by marked impulsivity and often an intense fear of abandonment.
Histrionic Personality Disorder
Excessive emotional and attention-seeking behavior; one must be the center of attention and is often melodramatic and flirtatious.
Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Characterized by pervasive grandiosity (inflated sense of self importance), need for admiration, and a lack of empathy.
Avoidant Personality Disorder
Constantly fears social rejection, disapproval, or criticism. One often feels inadequate and is hypersensitive to negative evaluations of others.
Dependent Personality Disorder
Chronic need to be taken care of, resulting in extremely clingy behavior, and fear of abandonment, separation, or rejection. One is submissive and dependent to elicit caregiving from others.
Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder
Preoccupation with orderliness, perfectionism, and control. One maintains painstaking attention to rules and perfectionism that interferes with ability to complete tasks.
