What does Eysenck argue and what did he develop?
That personality is determined by an individuals constitution, which is determined by their genes. He developed a test.
What is Extraversion?
Having a high need for excitement, impulsive and lose their temper easily making them most likely to be a criminal. They are much harder to condition and don’t care about societies disapproval.
What is the Biology of Extroverts?
The RAS inhibits incoming sensations, resulting in the need to seek stimulation, therefore more likely to engage in criminal activity. EG. Joyriding.
What is Introversion?
Is where you are reserved and tend to not be aggressive and place great value on ethical standards.
What is the Biology of Introverts?
RAS amplifies sensory input, therefore they seek less stimulation.
What is Neuroticism?
You tend to be nervus and anxious. Difficult to cope with stress. They tend to engage with criminal behavior as they overreact to minor situations.
What are you like if you are high in stability?
You’re calm and unlikely to panic when stressed, and respond to emergencies in a productive manner.
What’s the Biology of Neuroticism?
Controlled by the autonomic nervous system (ANS) which releases hormones such as adrenaline which make you jump.
What is Psychoticism?
Where you are egocentric, impulsive and cold, hostile.
What hormone does Psychoticism link too?
Testosterone, supports that more males commit crime.
