Q

Who are you, and what’s a personal story that shaped you as a professional?

A

I’m Taylor Ivanoff, a Senior PHP Developer with 7 years of experience building web applications. My career started with WordPress and Laravel, but a pivotal moment was when I led a company-wide initiative at 4mation Technologies to standardize development environments using Docker. At the time, I was a junior developer, but I saw an inefficiency that affected every project. Taking ownership of that initiative not only improved workflow across the company but also shaped my approach to problem-solving and leadership.

Q

What’s a professional accomplishment you’re most proud of?

A

One of my proudest accomplishments was leading the development of an in-house Two-Factor Authentication system using Redis for the PHP wholesale ordering portal at Vocus Group. As seeing the direct impact of my work on both security and business operations was incredibly rewarding.

Q

What skill do you want to develop in the next year?

A

In the next year, I want to deepen my expertise in cloud-native development, particularly with AWS and Kubernetes. While I have experience with Docker and some Kubernetes for deployment automation, I’m actively working on improving my ability to architect and optimize cloud-native applications, whether through hands-on projects or advanced certifications.

Q

If you had a disagreement with another developer, how would you solve it?

A

I would first listen to their perspective and ensure clear communication of my viewpoint.

Then, I would seek common ground and collaborate on potential solutions.

If we can’t reach an agreement, I’d consider involving a third party, like a team lead, to help facilitate a resolution.

My goal would be to maintain a positive working relationship while finding the best outcome for the project.
