1) Assess state’s long arm statutes
2) Constitutional Analysis: 1) Contact: purposeful availment + foreseeability (to be sued in the forum) 2) relatedness: does P’s claim arise from or relate to D’s contact with the forum? 3) Fairness (specific PJ only): burden on D and witnesses, state’s interest, P’s interest.
3) If not specific jurisdiction, then check for general. Is D domiciled in state? Is corp inc or PPB’d? Was D “tagged” there?
4) If no, has D waived PJ?
