How do you do denture care?

A
  • wear gloves
  • soak over night
  • cool water to soak. Hot h2o will warp the denture.
  • place wash cloth in the sink just in case if you drop them, it can prevent breaking the dentures

What is pericare and how do you do pericare?

A
  • it is done as needed.
  • it is the cleaning of the genital and anal area.
  • work from the cleanest area to the dirtiest.
  • the urethra is the cleanest and the anal area is the dirtiest.
  • clean from front to back.
  • clean down the centre and then down each side (should use a different part of the cloth with each wipe)
  • use warm h2o, rinse and dry pat.
