Aerobic capacity
The ability of the cardio respiratory system to provide and use oxygen during very hard exertion over a specific amount of time. The max oxygen uptake test measures aerobic capacity.
Anorexia Nervosa
Eating disorder in which a person severely restricts the amount of food eaten in an attempt to be exceptionally low in body fat.
Body composition
The proportional amounts of body tissues including muscle, bone, body fat, and other tissues that make up your body
Body fat level
Percentage of body weight that is made up of fat
Carbohydrates
Type of nutrient that provides you with your main source of energy
Cardiorespiratory Endurance
Ability to exercise your entire body for a long time without stopping
Cardiovascular System
Body system that includes your heart, blood vessels, and blood; provides oxygen and nutrients to the body
Dynamic Movement Exercise
Exercises such as jumping that are often used in a warm-up for activities requiring strength, power, and speed, move joints and stretch
Dynamic Warm Up
Dynamic movement exercise that increases body temp and gets muscles ready for more vigorous exercises; can serve as some or all of warm up
Fat
Nutrient that provides energy, helps growth and repair cells, and dissolves and carries certain vitamins to cells
FITT Formula
Prescription or recipe (based on ingredients of frequency, intensity, time, type) for appropriate physical activity
Health Related Fitness
Parts of physical fitness that help a person stay healthy;includes cardio respiratory endurance, flexibility, muscular endurance, strength, power, and body composition
Heat Index
Scale that rates the safety of the environment for exercise based on temp and humidity
Interval Training
Type of training that uses bouts of high intensity exercise followed by rest periods
Micronutrient
Nutrient that your body needs in smaller amounts than it needs carbs, protein, and fats
Obesity
Condition of being especially overweight more than the healthy range
Physical Activity Pyramid
Diagram that describes the various types of physical activity that produce good fitness, health, and wellness
Protein
Group of nutrients used for building, repairs, and maintaining your body cell
Reps
The number of consecutive times you do an exercise
RICE
Formula in which each letter reps a step in treating a minor injury R=rest I=ice C=compression E=elevation
Respiratory system
Body system made up of your lungs and the passages that bring air, including oxygen from the outside in

Stretch preformed slowly as far as you can without pain, until you feel a sense of pulling or tension
