Atoms rearrange to make new substances

Melting/boiling point, colour, strength, density
What is produced when copper and oxygen react?
Copper oxide
When are new substances formed?
In chemical reactions (chemical changes)
What is melting, boiling and freezing point
Mp- where solid changes to liquid
Bp- liquid starts to evaporate
Fp- same as melting point
What is the melting and freezing point of water?
0°c
Properties of metals
High mp, strong, flexible, malleable, shiny,good conductors of heat and electricity
Properties of non metals
Low mp, brittle, dull, poor conductors of heat and electricity
What is produced when sodium reacts with water?
Sodium hydroxide + hydrogen
What is produced when lithium reacts with oxygen?
Lithium oxide
