People that gather food by hunting, fishing, and collecting plants rather than farming.
Semisedentary Societies
Societies whose members combine agriculture with hunting and fishing.
Mississippian Culture
Native American culture in characterized by (ie.) maize agriculture.
Algonquian
A group of people widespread in the eastern woodlands, Great Lakes, and subarctic regions of eastern North America.
Iroquois Confederacy
A confederation of 5 Native American tribes- Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, and Seneca.
Protestant Reformation
The reform movement critiquing the Roman Catholic Church and the schism that divided Protestants from Catholics.
Counter-Reformation
A reaction in the Catholic Church triggered by the Reformation.
