Furcation Grades
A
1=incipient bone loss, can enter furcation
2=partial bone loss, can pass into furcation
3=total bone loss, can pass through opening of furcation
4=same as grade 3 total bone loss, can pass through opening of furcation, with VISIBLE clinical view

Mobility
A
Take two blunt end instruments
1=slight mobility
2=moderate >1mm displacement
3=severe mobility, moves vertically and is depressible in the tooth socket

Gingival Margin
A
- measure from gingival margin to CEJ(cementoenamel junction)
- Recession= positive value
- Pseudopocket= negative value

Where to check furcations?
A
- Maxillary first premolars: has a buccal and palatal root; enter mesially and distally
- Maxillary molars: has a mesial-buccal(MB), disto-buccal(DB), and palatal root; enter center, lingual mesially and distally
- Mandibular molars: has a mesial and distal root; enter center
