Perimeter, Area & Volume Flashcards
Find the perimeter of a field which measures 20m by 15m?
Perimeter = add sides
20 + 20 + 15 + 15
= 70m
Find the area of a field which measures 20m by 15m
Area of rectangle = length x width
20 x 15 = 300 m²
Find the volume of a cube that has a side measuring 5cm
volume of cube (or cuboid) = length x width x height volume = 5 x 5 x 5 = 125 cm³
How many square tiles (25cm by 25cm) can fit along a wall measuring 3.5m
3.5m = 350cm
350 ÷ 25 = 14 tiles
Find the volume of a cuboid which measures 30cm by 0.5m by 40cm
Volume = length x width x height (Note all units need to be the same first)
Volume = 30 x 50 x 40 = 60000cm³
Or Volume = 0.3 x 0.5 x 0.4 = 0.06m³
The area of a field is 50m². If the length of the field is 10m, how wide is it?
Area = length x width 50 = 10 x width width = 5m
What unit do you measure volume?
a) m
b) m²
c) m³
c) m³
