variable rate intravenous insulin infusion (VRIII)

If taken once daily in the morning - omit the dose that

If taken twice daily - omit the morning dose that day
If taken once daily in the morning -
omit the dose that day
If taken twice daily - omit both doses that day
metformin once or twice
take as normal
insulin
halve morning dose and leave evening dose unchanged
checklist of an operation
The checklist identifies three phases of an operation:
1) Before the induction of anaesthesia (sign in)
2) Before the incision of the skin (time out)
3) Before the patient leaves the operating room (sign out)
insulin minor surgery what do you do with changing the insulin dosage
Adjust their usual insulin regimen and prescribe IV fluids
