What is labour force ?
Labour force consists of all the people who are available for work.
What does labour force not include ?
People who are retired.
Those who are still in school, college or on training courses.
Those who did not wish to work outside the home.

What is work ?
Work is any activities that requires effort.
What is agriculture ?
This sector includes all people employed in farming, forestry , and fishing. Agriculture is the smallest sector for workers.
What is industry ?
This sector includes all the people that are employed by firms that manufacture goods as well as those firms involved in building and construction.
What is services ?
This sector is the biggest employer in Ireland and includes all those people who work for firms and other organisations providing services to the consumer e.g finance, insurance, communication, transport, administration, teachers and gardaí.
What is unemployment ?
Unemployment, Is when people are willing and able to work and unable to find a suitable job.
What is the help for unemployment ?
🔵 A regular payment ( Jobseekers benefit ) which is paid to unemployed people by the department of Social Protection.
🔵 Programmes such as FAS are organisations that help the unemployed and give them new skills to get a job.
🔵More benefits are given to the unemployed to help them get a job such as medical cards, food/fuel vouchers and rent supplements to help decrease their daily expenses.
