What is the help for unemployment ?

A

🔵 A regular payment ( Jobseekers benefit ) which is paid to unemployed people by the department of Social Protection.

🔵 Programmes such as FAS are organisations that help the unemployed and give them new skills to get a job.

🔵More benefits are given to the unemployed to help them get a job such as medical cards, food/fuel vouchers and rent supplements to help decrease their daily expenses.

🔶 Competition between firms means that some businesses have to close down or let some workers go to reduce their costs

🔶 New technology means that many jobs can now be done by machines.

🔶 The economy may be going through a recession, which can lead to fewer goods and services are purchased. As a result some workers are let go.
