- death from service operations

- incident that attracts media coverage
- incidents with profound emotion
- sight or sound incident that brings on emotional reaction

-individual support
-On scene or near scene support
-information sessions
-CIS discussion 8-12 hours after
-CIS debriefing - 24- 72 hours with EAPP counsellor
-CIS Follow up 24-72 hours

Relief of duty
A
- District or Platoon chief decision
-Can include returning to station - Officer with consent of member may notify significant other of member
-chief will be notified if member can’t return to duty.
