Peds BLS - Multiple Rescuers

Question 1

Verify scene safety is the same first step for one and multiple rescuer peds BLS.

However the next bundle of 3 things to do differs. How so?

SINGLE rescuer:
1) Check for responsiveness - check for response to “Are you alright?”
2) Shout for nearby help
3) Activate the emergency response system with cell phone (if appropriate), and if possible, call out for or retrieve an AED

Multiple Rescuer:
1) same
2) same
3) DIFFERENT. Basically one stays w/child and the other goes to get help and an AED.

Question 2

There’s literally only one other different for 1 vs multiple rescuers in peds BLS. What is it?

compression to breath ratio.
1 rescuer: 30:2
2 rescuer: 15:2

wrote up a whole explanation in single rescuer deck about how i actually think you do want to stop compressions for two rescuer (and you just have to for one rescuer cuz can’t do both), so you really let chest rise with breaths to avoid deadly hypoxia in kids.
